The Lower Suwannee Art & Nature Festival is an annual outdoor event featuring North Florida artists, artisans, crafters, and food vendors. Look for paintings and photographs of Florida’s natural beauty, including coastal landscapes, water birds, and aquatic life. Metal and wood artists also contribute to the range of the event with creations both unusual and beautiful. Prepare to enjoy BBQ and other delicious food while you kick back at one of the tables under the shade of spreading trees and listen to live music from local artists.
The festival grounds and parking area spread over Glen Dyals Park, which is situated in the serene coastal and near-coastal area known as Florida’s Hidden Coast. Just outside the waterfront community of Suwannee on the Suwannee River estuary and adjacent to portions of the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge, the festival grounds are close to nature trails, boat ramps, and accommodations for overnight stay in rooms and for RVs.
The festival is organized by employees and volunteers of the Suwannee Library Technical Center, part of the Dixie County Public Library system. It is supported by several local organizations. Saturday, March 12, 2022 marked the fifth year of this annual event.
